Job summary

Phoenix House of New York is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support clinical services and audit medication handling. You will assist in data entry into the EMR system, maintain patient confidentiality, and help coordinate appointments within a busy outpatient setting in Queens, NY.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and at least two years of healthcare experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant program graduate.
  • Two years of healthcare experience.
  • Ability to perform medication audits and data entry.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow policies.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the (self) administration of medication to patients.
  • Transcribes medication orders and monitors medication records for compliance.
  • Perform accurate and complete audits of medication transported, received, administered, stored, or disposed, as trained, and assigned.
  • Enter data into computer EMR software.
  • Answering telephones and updating patient records.
  • Schedule appointments and assist with hospital admissions and laboratory services.
  • Communicate with external agencies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
