Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for the Med/Surg unit on the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. This role supports patient flow and administrative operations in a fast-paced thoracic surgery stepdown unit, coordinating admissions, transfers and post‑care documentation.

You will greet patients and families, respond to call lights, assist with rounds and discharges, arrange wayfinding, maintain medical records, and handle computer tasks to update schedules and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
• Typing and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and orient them to the unit.
• Respond to patient call lights and rounds.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Assist patients and families with wayfinding and resources.
• Assemble and maintain patient records and documents.
• Update schedules and manage patient information in the computer system.
• Troubleshoot unit devices and call system as needed.
