Job summary

Cooper Standard in the United States is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support high-volume automotive production lines. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot robotics, PLCs, and electrical systems to keep lines running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, or related field, or equivalent completed apprenticeship/technical certification.
2+ years of maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment (Tier 1 automotive or OEM preferred).
Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, hydraulic blueprints, and PLC ladder logic.
Experience with multi-axis industrial equipment/robotics and knowledge of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DeviceNet).

Responsibilities

Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on automated production machinery and lines.
Troubleshoot, calibrate, and program industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, YASKAWA, KUKA).
Diagnose electrical control circuits, sensors, drives, and PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Omron).
Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems, valves, cylinders, pumps, and actuators.
Perform rapid root cause analysis to minimize downtime and implement permanent corrective actions.
Assist engineering teams in optimizing machine cycle times and upgrading controls.
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OSHA Lockout/Tagout.
Read blueprints/drawings; follow written and verbal instructions.
Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervision.
Provide field-change sketches for engineering corrections and drawings.
May train others in maintenance or electronic control systems operations.
Participate in ongoing training to stay current with technology.
