Job summary

Cooper Standard Automotive seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to service and improve automated production lines in a high-volume manufacturing setting. You will work with robotics, PLCs, and fluid power systems to ensure optimal machine performance.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, proficiency with Allen-Bradley/Siemens PLCs, and adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OSHA safety standards. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, or related field, or equivalent apprenticeship/certification.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience in high-volume manufacturing (Tier 1 automotive or OEM preferred).
• Reading electrical schematics and hydraulic blueprints; PLC ladder logic.
• Experience with multi-axis industrial equipment/robotics.
• Knowledge of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DeviceNet).

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on high-volume automated production machinery and assembly lines.
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and program industrial robots (FANUC, YASKAWA, KUKA).
• Diagnose and repair electrical control circuits, sensors, drives, and PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron).
• Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems, valves, cylinders, pumps, actuators.
• Conduct rapid root-cause analysis during outages to minimize downtime.
• Support continuous improvement with engineering to optimize cycle times and OEE.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OSHA Lockout/Tagout standards.
• Read blueprints/drawings and follow written/verbal instructions.
