Job summary

Cooper Standard Automotive, Inc. seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to service high‑volume automated production lines, troubleshoot robotics, and keep electrical and pneumatic systems running safely and efficiently.

You will read schematics, work from blueprints, and follow written and verbal instructions while supporting continuous improvement and equipment uptime in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in mechatronics or related field.
• 2+ years maintenance experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment (Tier 1 automotive or OEM experience preferred).
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, hydraulic blueprints, and PLC ladder logic.
• Experience with multi‑axis industrial equipment/robotics.
• Knowledge of industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DeviceNet).

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on automated production machinery and lines.
• Troubleshoot and program industrial robots (FANUC, YASKAWA, KUKA).
• Diagnose and repair electrical control circuits and PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron).
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems; service valves, cylinders, pumps, actuators.
• Conduct root cause analysis to minimize downtime and implement fixes.
• Support continuous improvement with engineering on OEE improvements.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, OSHA Lockout/Tagout.
• Read blueprints and drawings; follow written and verbal instructions.
• Provide training on maintenance and controls when needed.
• Participate in ongoing technology training.
