About Winixx
Winixx Inc. is a New York-based technology holding company operating a portfolio of over 30 SaaS platforms across freight, fleet management, financial infrastructure, and market intelligence. Founded with a mission to modernize fragmented and underserved industries, Winixx builds technology that removes inefficiencies, creates transparency, and puts more value in the hands of the people doing the actual work. Our flagship products include Winixx Freight, a next‑generation load board with embedded instant payment; fleetOS, a comprehensive fleet management and roadside assistance platform; and Baron Meddy Financial, our financial infrastructure arm facilitating capital deployment, escrow, and M&A advisory across verticals. Winixx is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with remote teams operating nationwide.
Role Summary
The fleetOS Link is not a simple device — it combines dual‑SIM 4G LTE cellular communication, GPS tracking, OBD‑II vehicle data acquisition, a multi‑camera AI vision system, G‑force crash detection, and always‑on power management into a single hardwired telematics unit. Getting all of those subsystems to work together reliably, in a vehicle environment, across millions of operating hours, requires an engineer who is equally comfortable with mechanical systems, electronics, and embedded software. The Mechatronics Engineer at Winixx owns the integration of these disciplines, serving as the technical bridge that ensures every subsystem of the fleetOS hardware ecosystem works together as a cohesive, reliable product.
What You’ll Do
- Define system‑level integration requirements for each fleetOS hardware program, documenting the interfaces, timing dependencies, and compatibility requirements between mechanical, electrical, and firmware subsystems in interface control documents (ICDs)
- Lead hardware integration testing during EVT and DVT development phases, developing and executing structured integration test protocols that systematically verify the interaction between mechanical, electrical, and firmware subsystems
- Design and build specialized integration test fixtures and benchtop test setups that allow efficient functional verification of assembled hardware units without requiring vehicle installation
- Identify and investigate integration failures that span multiple engineering disciplines, coordinating root cause analysis across mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering teams and driving resolution to verified closure
- Collaborate with embedded software engineers on hardware abstraction layer (HAL) development, providing hardware perspective on driver requirements, interrupt handling strategies, and power state management for each hardware interface
- Participate in PCB design reviews from a systems integration perspective, evaluating connector selection, testpoint placement, signal routing decisions, and mechanical keepout compliance
- Develop and maintain the hardware integration test procedure library, creating repeatable test protocols for each integration interface that can be executed by the validation team during ongoing product testing
- Support field escalations involving complex, multi‑domain hardware failures by applying systems‑level analytical skills to identify the root cause when the failure mode crosses mechanical, electrical, and software boundaries
- Contribute to the product development process by identifying opportunities to simplify system integration, reduce integration failure modes, and improve testability through design changes at the component and subsystem level
- Develop hardware integration expertise documentation including integration risk registers, known failure mode libraries, and integration test coverage matrices
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related multidisciplinary engineering field
- 2+ years of professional experience in a mechatronics, systems integration, or hardware bring‑up engineering role working on complex electronic hardware products
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience integrating mechanical and electronic subsystems, with the ability to work confidently at a hardware bench with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and signal generators
- Working knowledge of common embedded hardware interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, CAN bus, and GPIO, with practical experience debugging communication failures at the hardware level using protocol analyzers
- Familiarity with embedded firmware development sufficient to read and understand firmware source code, identify hardware‑firmware interaction issues, and collaborate effectively with firmware engineers on integration debugging
- Experience with hardware test fixture design and fabrication, including the ability to specify fixture requirements, work with mechanical designers or technicians to build fixtures, and validate fixture performance before use in testing
- Understanding of automotive electronics standards and the specific integration challenges associated with vehicle‑powered electronics, including ignition‑switched power management, vehicle communication bus integration, and EMC considerations
- Strong systematic troubleshooting skills with the ability to isolate and characterize integration failures across mechanical, electrical, and software domains
- Experience with vehicle telematics hardware, fleet management systems, IoT device integration, or automotive electronics is a meaningful advantage
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
- Performance bonus program tied to individual and company milestones
- Hybrid work environment with flexible scheduling
- Career growth opportunities across 30+ SaaS products and multiple verticals
- Front‑row seat at a technology company at the beginning of a major national expansion
- Collaborative, mission‑driven team environment
- Paid time off and company holidays
- Professional development and continuing education support
