About Winixx
Winixx Inc. is a New York-based technology holding company operating a portfolio of over 30 SaaS platforms across freight, fleet management, financial infrastructure, and market intelligence. Founded with a mission to modernize fragmented and underserved industries, Winixx builds technology that removes inefficiencies, creates transparency, and puts more value in the hands of the people doing the actual work. Our flagship products include Winixx Freight, a next-generation load board with embedded instant payment; fleetOS, a comprehensive fleet management and roadside assistance platform; and Baron Meddy Financial, our financial infrastructure arm facilitating capital deployment, escrow, and M&A advisory across verticals. Winixx is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with remote teams operating nationwide.
Role Summary
Winixx is building a hardware ecosystem that will be deployed across hundreds of thousands of commercial vehicles nationwide, and the Senior Mechanical Engineer is the technical cornerstone of that effort. In this role, you will not simply execute designs — you will define the mechanical architecture of the fleetOS hardware product line, set the engineering standards that the entire team works to, and take personal ownership of the most complex and highest-stakes design challenges across the portfolio. You will lead programs from early concept through mass production, provide meaningful technical mentorship to junior engineers, and serve as the primary mechanical engineering voice in cross-functional product discussions with leadership, manufacturing partners, and certification bodies. This is a role for a seasoned hardware engineer who has been through the full product development cycle multiple times, who has seen what goes wrong at each stage, and who has the judgment and experience to prevent those failures from happening again.
What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design for the most complex and highest-priority hardware programs across the fleetOS product line, taking ownership from initial concept through mass production handoff
- Define and enforce the mechanical engineering architecture, design standards, component libraries, and documentation conventions that the entire mechanical team works within
- Conduct thorough technical design reviews at all major program milestones, providing substantive engineering feedback that improves design quality and reduces downstream risk
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level mechanical engineers through regular design reviews, one-on-one technical coaching, and involvement in design decision-making processes
- Lead design-for-manufacture engagement with contract manufacturing partners, reviewing tool designs, approving mold flow analyses, evaluating first article inspection results, and driving resolution of manufacturing non-conformances
- Own the mechanical engineering deliverables for DVT and PVT test phases, including test plan development, failure investigation, design correction implementation, and design validation sign-off
- Collaborate with the certification and regulatory team to ensure mechanical designs satisfy FCC, CE, E-Mark, and applicable automotive safety requirements, supporting certification testing and responding to technical inquiries
- Develop and maintain the mechanical engineering team's technical roadmap, identifying capability gaps, tooling investments, and process improvements needed to support Winixx's hardware growth plans
- Serve as the mechanical engineering representative in executive program reviews, providing accurate and timely updates on design status, risk items, and schedule implications
- Partner with product management and industrial design to evaluate technical feasibility of new hardware concepts early in the definition phase
- Establish and own mechanical engineering metrics including design review closure rates, prototype iteration cycles, first-pass validation pass rates, and field failure rates
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 6+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience with a clear track record of shipping hardware products to mass production in consumer electronics, automotive, fleet technology, or industrial IoT categories
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent parametric CAD software, including surface modeling, large assembly management, and integration with PDM or PLM systems
- Deep, hands-on experience with design-for-manufacture across multiple manufacturing processes including injection molding, die casting, sheet metal fabrication, and CNC machining, with specific experience managing tooling development from design through qualification
- Demonstrated experience leading mechanical design through DVT and PVT phases, including writing and executing test plans, managing failure investigations, and implementing design corrections under schedule pressure
- Strong understanding of automotive-grade environmental requirements including thermal cycling, humidity, salt spray, mechanical shock, and vibration per standards such as IEC 60068 or MIL-STD-810
- Proven track record of providing technical leadership to junior engineers, including the ability to identify knowledge gaps and develop team capability over time
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills with demonstrated ability to represent mechanical engineering effectively in executive-level program reviews and manufacturing partner discussions
- Experience managing contract manufacturing relationships internationally, including the ability to communicate design requirements clearly and hold manufacturing partners accountable to quality and schedule commitments
- Certification or coursework in design for six sigma (DFSS), FMEA methodologies, or reliability engineering is a meaningful advantage
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
- Performance bonus program tied to individual and company milestones
- Hybrid work environment with flexible scheduling
- Career growth opportunities across 30+ SaaS products and multiple verticals
- Front-row seat at a technology company at the beginning of a major national expansion
- Collaborative, mission-driven team environment
- Paid time off and company holidays
- Professional development and continuing education support
