About Winixx
Winixx Inc. is a New York-based technology holding company operating a portfolio of over 30 SaaS platforms across freight, fleet management, financial infrastructure, and market intelligence. Founded with a mission to modernize fragmented and underserved industries, Winixx builds technology that removes inefficiencies, creates transparency, and puts more value in the hands of the people doing the actual work. Our flagship products include Winixx Freight, a next-generation load board with embedded instant payment; fleetOS, a comprehensive fleet management and roadside assistance platform; and Baron Meddy Financial, our financial infrastructure arm facilitating capital deployment, escrow, and M&A advisory across verticals. Winixx is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with remote teams operating nationwide.
Role Summary
Before any fleetOS hardware product ships to a carrier or fleet operator, it must pass through a rigorous validation program that subjects it to conditions more extreme than anything it will likely encounter in the field — because the cost of a validation program that is too easy is measured in field failures, warranty claims, and damaged customer relationships. The Hardware Validation Engineer at Winixx owns this validation program, developing the test plans, executing the tests, interpreting the results, and making the engineering judgments that determine whether a hardware product is truly ready for production release. This is a role for an engineer with both technical depth and professional integrity — someone who will report validation findings accurately even when the results are inconvenient for program schedules.
What You’ll Do
- Develop comprehensive hardware validation test plans for each fleetOS hardware program, translating product requirements specifications into specific, executable test cases with defined test conditions, measurement methods, acceptance criteria, and pass/fail disposition rules
- Execute environmental, mechanical, and electrical validation tests on hardware prototype units, operating test equipment including temperature and humidity chambers, thermal shock chambers, vibration tables, salt spray chambers, IP/dust ingress test equipment, and electrical measurement instruments
- Perform electrical performance validation testing on fleetOS hardware, including power consumption measurement across operating states, cellular and GPS RF performance characterization, OBD‑II communication interface testing, and functional verification across specified operating temperature and voltage ranges
- Document all test activities and results in validation test reports that accurately record test conditions, raw measurement data, pass/fail determinations, and anomalies observed during testing, maintaining complete traceability between test results and the hardware units under test
- Investigate validation test failures with rigor and objectivity, performing root cause analysis to distinguish design deficiencies from test anomalies, sample outliers, and test setup issues, and documenting investigation findings with supporting evidence
- Manage the hardware sample traceability program for all validation activities, maintaining records that link each test result to the specific hardware unit tested, the hardware design revision under test, and the production lot and build date
- Support FCC, CE, E‑Mark, and automotive certification testing by preparing hardware samples to specification, coordinating with accredited test laboratories, and reviewing draft test reports
- Develop and maintain Winixx's hardware validation laboratory capabilities, including environmental chamber programming, test fixture design and fabrication, measurement system calibration management, and laboratory safety compliance
- Contribute to the development of Winixx's hardware validation methodology, drawing on validation experience across programs to improve test plan templates, test execution efficiency, and the rigor of failure investigation and corrective action processes
- Provide accurate, timely validation status reporting to program teams and engineering leadership, clearly communicating open test findings, failure investigation status, corrective action schedules, and overall product readiness
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline with a strong experimental and laboratory orientation
- 2+ years of professional hardware validation or test engineering experience working on electronic hardware products, with demonstrated experience developing and executing structured test programs that have influenced production release decisions
- Practical, hands‑on experience operating environmental test equipment including temperature and humidity chambers, thermal shock chambers, vibration tables, and IP ingress test equipment
- Working knowledge of environmental test standards applicable to vehicle‑mounted electronics including IEC 60068, ISO 16750, MIL‑STD‑810, and equivalent standards
- Experience with electrical measurement instrumentation and techniques including oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and power analyzers, with the ability to characterize electrical performance parameters of electronic hardware products
- Demonstrated ability to develop test cases and acceptance criteria from product requirements specifications, with the ability to identify validation coverage gaps and design test approaches that efficiently provide meaningful coverage
- Strong documentation discipline with the ability to produce complete, accurate, and well‑organized validation test reports that stand as a reliable record of what was tested, how it was tested, and what the results were
- Proficiency with data analysis tools for processing and interpreting validation measurement data, including Excel, Python, MATLAB, or equivalent, with the ability to apply statistical analysis methods to interpret test results appropriately
- Experience supporting product certification testing for FCC, CE, or automotive type approval certifications, including familiarity with sample preparation requirements, test laboratory coordination, and certification report review
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
- Performance bonus program tied to individual and company milestones
- Hybrid work environment with flexible scheduling
- Career growth opportunities across 30+ SaaS products and multiple verticals
- Front‑row seat at a technology company at the beginning of a major national expansion
- Collaborative, mission‑driven team environment
- Paid time off and company holidays
- Professional development and continuing education support
