About Winixx
Winixx Inc. is a New York-based technology holding company operating a portfolio of over 30 SaaS platforms across freight, fleet management, financial infrastructure, and market intelligence. Founded with a mission to modernize fragmented and underserved industries, Winixx builds technology that removes inefficiencies, creates transparency, and puts more value in the hands of the people doing the actual work. Our flagship products include Winixx Freight, a next-generation load board with embedded instant payment; fleetOS, a comprehensive fleet management and roadside assistance platform; and Baron Meddy Financial, our financial infrastructure arm facilitating capital deployment, escrow, and M&A advisory across verticals. Winixx is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with remote teams operating nationwide.
Role Summary
Every fleetOS device that ships to a carrier or fleet operator arrives inside an enclosure that the Hardware Enclosure Engineer designed. That enclosure is not merely a box — it is the first thing a driver sees, the structure that protects thousands of dollars of electronics from road vibration, water ingress, and physical impact, and the mounting system that keeps a safety-critical telematics device securely attached to a vehicle traveling at highway speeds. In this role, you will own the enclosure and mounting system design for Winixx's vehicle-mounted hardware product line, working across the fleetOS Link, POS tablet, camera systems, and consumer device categories. You will take designs from concept sketch through injection molding tooling qualification, working closely with industrial designers to realize aesthetic intent while collaborating with mechanical and electrical engineers to satisfy functional requirements.
What You'll Do
- Own the complete design and development of mechanical enclosures, mounting systems, and installation hardware for all fleetOS vehicle-mounted products from initial concept through production qualification
- Develop enclosure geometries that satisfy IP67 or higher weatherproofing requirements, designing sealing interfaces, gasket grooves, compression limiters, and drainage features that maintain seal integrity across thermal cycling and mechanical load conditions
- Create mounting and installation system designs that securely attach hardware to diverse vehicle types including heavy‑duty trucks, vans, and light commercial vehicles, accounting for vibration, shock, and static load requirements
- Collaborate with industrial designers on CMF (color, material, finish) specifications, translating visual design intent into material grades, surface texture specifications, and painting or plating process requirements that are achievable at production scale
- Manage injection molding tooling development from design through qualification, including review of tool design proposals, mold flow analysis results, tool trial sample evaluation, and first article inspection coordination with tooling vendors
- Conduct mechanical durability testing on enclosure designs including drop testing, vibration testing, cable pull testing, and seal integrity testing, documenting results and driving design improvements based on findings
- Develop installation guide and field service documentation for each enclosure design, ensuring that installers can correctly mount and seal the hardware in the field without specialized tooling
- Work with procurement to qualify enclosure component suppliers, reviewing supplier capabilities, quality systems, and sample quality before approving sources for production
- Collaborate with the customer experience team to gather field feedback on enclosure usability, installation challenges, and durability issues, incorporating insights into next‑generation designs
- Maintain an organized library of approved enclosure designs, standard mounting configurations, and reusable hardware components that can be leveraged across future product programs
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Product Design
- 2+ years of professional experience designing enclosures or housings for electronic hardware products, with at least one product having successfully completed production qualification and shipped to customers
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent parametric CAD software, with demonstrated experience using surfacing tools to create Class A or near-Class A enclosure geometry suitable for consumer‑facing products
- Deep understanding of injection molding design principles including draft angle requirements, wall thickness guidelines, rib and boss design, gate and runner system considerations, and design trade‑offs required to achieve consistent part quality from high‑cavity production tools
- Practical experience with IP rating standards (IEC 60529) and the specific design features required to achieve IP67 or higher ratings, including gasket material selection, groove geometry design, and compression ratio specification
- Familiarity with automotive vibration and shock requirements for vehicle‑mounted electronics, including experience designing mounting systems that meet MIL‑STD‑810 or equivalent vibration specifications
- Experience coordinating tooling development with injection molding vendors, including the ability to read and comment on tool design drawings, interpret mold flow simulation results, and evaluate tool trial samples against dimensional and cosmetic acceptance criteria
- Understanding of surface finish specifications, texture standards (SPI or VDI finishes), and painting and plating processes applicable to production enclosures
- Strong communication skills for working with industrial designers, electrical engineers, manufacturing partners, and installation teams across the product development process
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
- Performance bonus program tied to individual and company milestones
- Hybrid work environment with flexible scheduling
- Career growth opportunities across 30+ SaaS products and multiple verticals
- Front-row seat at a technology company at the beginning of a major national expansion
- Collaborative, mission‑driven team environment
- Paid time off and company holidays
- Professional development and continuing education support
