About Winixx
Winixx Inc. is a New York-based technology holding company operating a portfolio of over 30 SaaS platforms across freight, fleet management, financial infrastructure, and market intelligence. Founded with a mission to modernize fragmented and underserved industries, Winixx builds technology that removes inefficiencies, creates transparency, and puts more value in the hands of the people doing the actual work. Our flagship products include Winixx Freight, a next-generation load board with embedded instant payment; fleetOS, a comprehensive fleet management and roadside assistance platform; and Baron Meddy Financial, our financial infrastructure arm facilitating capital deployment, escrow, and M&A advisory across verticals. Winixx is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with remote teams operating nationwide.
Role Summary
A design that cannot be manufactured consistently, affordably, and at scale is not a finished design — it is a liability. The Manufacturing Design Engineer at Winixx is the engineer who makes sure that never describes a Winixx product. In this role, you will serve as the critical bridge between Winixx's product engineering team and its contract manufacturing partners, applying manufacturing engineering expertise to ensure that every design decision in the hardware development process accounts for how the product will actually be built, tested, and delivered at volume. You will engage with contract manufacturers from the earliest stages of product development, bringing a factory perspective into design reviews before tooling is committed.
What You'll Do
- Lead DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) reviews for all fleetOS hardware programs, evaluating mechanical designs, PCB layouts, and assembly sequences against manufacturing process capabilities to identify and resolve manufacturability risks before design freeze
- Develop and document manufacturing process plans for new hardware products, defining assembly sequences, workstation layouts, tooling requirements, process controls, and quality checkpoints for each assembly stage
- Collaborate with contract manufacturing engineering teams during new product introduction (NPI), providing design intent clarification, resolving manufacturing questions, and approving process documentation before production qualification begins
- Plan and execute process qualification activities including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) at contract manufacturing facilities
- Apply failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to manufacturing processes, identifying potential process failure modes, assessing their severity and probability, and recommending process controls that reduce risk to acceptable levels
- Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions and visual aids for assembly and test operations, ensuring that instructions are clear, accurate, and executable by production operators
- Investigate manufacturing defects and production quality escapes, performing root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D or DMAIC and implementing corrective actions that address root causes
- Monitor manufacturing yield, cycle time, and defect rate metrics for fleetOS products in production, identifying adverse trends and initiating improvement projects
- Evaluate and implement lean manufacturing principles at contract manufacturing facilities, identifying and eliminating waste in assembly processes and reducing cycle time variability
- Support engineering change implementation at contract manufacturing facilities, assessing manufacturing impact, developing transition plans, and verifying that changes are correctly implemented
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
- 2+ years of professional manufacturing engineering experience working on electronic hardware products in a contract manufacturing or OEM manufacturing environment
- Practical, hands‑on experience with electronics manufacturing processes including PCB surface mount assembly, through‑hole assembly, selective soldering, conformal coating, mechanical sub‑assembly, and functional test operations
- Demonstrated experience leading DFM/DFA reviews and translating review findings into specific, actionable design changes that are implemented and verified in subsequent product iterations
- Experience developing and executing process qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) for manufacturing processes in a regulated or quality‑system‑governed production environment
- Working knowledge of quality management systems and production quality tools including FMEA, control plans, statistical process control (SPC), measurement system analysis (MSA/Gauge R&R), and first article inspection (FAI)
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and experience applying tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, kaizen, and standardized work in a production environment
- Experience with electronics assembly workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 is a meaningful advantage
- Strong project management and cross‑functional coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent manufacturing engineering workstreams
- Willingness to travel to contract manufacturing facilities, including potential international travel, to support new product introductions and process qualifications
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
- Performance bonus program tied to individual and company milestones
- Hybrid work environment with flexible scheduling
- Career growth opportunities across 30+ SaaS products and multiple verticals
- Front‑row seat at a technology company at the beginning of a major national expansion
- Collaborative, mission‑driven team environment
- Paid time off and company holidays
- Professional development and continuing education support
