Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Project Engineer III - Mechanical to join the Engineering & Design team in Dallas, TX. The role blends innovative problem solving with practical design for DBOM projects, ensuring high-performance buildings with comfort, safety and energy efficiency.

The candidate will design mechanical systems, perform calculations, coordinate with teams, and contribute to energy-saving strategies while pursuing continuous improvement and project delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required or equivalent experience.
• EIT/Engineering in Training Certificate required.
• 5+ years in 2D/3D AutoCAD and Revit modeling preferred.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, VBA, Python and structural analysis software (Bentley, RISA or SAP 2000).
• Onsite construction experience is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Documents project correspondence, issues, decisions and directions.
• Follows McKinstry Engineering standards and procedures.
• Contributes to tasks on multiple projects and timelines concurrently.
• Manages team’s workload to deliver tasks on time and within budget.
• Provides engineering analysis to support sales and early design efforts.
• Defines, communicates, and manages scope, design intent, and design process.
