McKinstry is seeking a Project Engineer III - Mechanical for its Engineering & Design team in Austin, TX. You will work on DBOM driven projects, balancing innovative problem solving with practical design for high-performance buildings.

The role emphasizes mechanical systems design, coordination across disciplines, and delivering design that improves occupant comfort, energy efficiency and cost savings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in 2D/3D AutoCAD and Revit modeling.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, VBA, Python and structural analysis software.
• 5 years in engineering design or related field; onsite construction experience welcomed.
• MS Office proficiency, including Teams.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Engineering in Training Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Documents project correspondence, issues, decisions and directions.
• Manages team's workload to deliver tasks on time and within budget.
• Provides engineering analysis to support sales and early design efforts.
• Defines and communicates scope, design intent, and processes for supervisor review.
• Produces or directs design drawings and BIM models for construction.
