Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Project Engineer III - Mechanical to join the Engineering & Design team in Dallas, TX. Engineers combine problem solving with design to deliver high-performance buildings, considering lifetime operation and cost efficiency.

The role emphasizes mechanical systems design, coordination, and energy conservation strategies, with a DBOM process guiding construction through operation. A strong engineering background and 5 years of relevant experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required or equivalent work experience.
• Engineering in Training Certificate required.
• Five (5) years of experience in 2D/3D AutoCAD and Revit modeling preferred.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, VBA, Python and structural analysis software (Bentley platform, RISA or SAP 2000) preferred.
• Five (5) years of experience in engineering design or related field preferred. Onsite construction experience welcome.

Responsibilities

• Documents project correspondence, issues, decisions and directions.
• Follows McKinstry Engineering standards and procedures.
• Manages team’s workload to deliver tasks on time and in the budget.
• Provides engineering analysis to support sales and early design efforts.
• Defines and communicates scope, design intent, and design process for supervisor review.
