Job summary

McKinstry in Portland, OR is seeking a Project Engineer III - Mechanical to join our Engineering & Design team. You will integrate design and build concepts, managing the DBOM process to ensure long-term performance and energy efficiency in client projects.

You will lead mechanical systems design with a focus on heat transfer, piping, and energy conservation, while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to meet scope and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required or equivalent experience.
• Engineering in Training Certificate is required.
• LEED accreditation is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Documents project correspondence, issues, decisions and directions.
• Follows McKinstry Engineering standards and procedures.
• Contributes to tasks on multiple projects and timelines concurrently.
• Manages team’s workload to deliver assigned tasks on time and in the budget.
• Provides engineering analysis to support sales and early design efforts.
• Defines, communicates, and manages scope, design intent, and design process for direct supervisor review.
• Proficient in mechanical systems design, calculations, and drafting tasks.
