Job summary

Sundt is seeking a Project Engineer II to serve as the technical source of information for the project. You will manage construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders, respond to drawings and change orders, and maintain professional relations with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

You may assist with supervising Field Engineers. The role progresses through three steps for skill and experience; Step II targets employees with 3 years in this position or on

Qualifications

• A four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical training plus 3–4 years of similar construction engineering experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise Field Engineer positions if needed.

Responsibilities

• Understand the project management plan and change management processes.
• Develop a procurement schedule and coordinate with CPM schedule; review submittals for compliance.
• Understand prime contract, subcontracts and POs; assist budgeting and cost control.
• Maintain 'As-built' documents and close-out requirements.
• Participate in concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities as needed.
• Plan, develop and supervise project team members for execution.
• Prepare and maintain quantity reporting and meeting minutes; maintain project logs.
• Prepare and review change orders with responsible personnel; manage change-order logs.
• Identify potential claims and quantify/mitigate effects when they occur.
