Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America in the United States is seeking a Mechanical Reliability and Project Engineering Co-Op. This role blends mechanical reliability and project engineering within PCA’s mill environment.

You will apply lubrication, vibration analysis, and root‑cause failure techniques, use AutoCAD and our CMMS (Trident), and collaborate with engineering, maintenance and operations teams to drive safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 required.
• Must be a permanent U.S. resident with a valid driver's license.
• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support reliability assignments to improve mill safety, efficiency, equipment performance, and cost effectiveness.
• Apply lubrication, vibration analysis, and root cause failure analysis to improve equipment reliability.
• Collect and analyze mill data to support process optimization, troubleshooting, and business decision-making.
• Coordinate improvement efforts with engineering, maintenance, operations, outside resources, and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Assist with capital projects from funding request through completion, including planning, estimating, and contractor oversight.
• Use AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, process information systems, and PCA's CMMS (Trident) to complete work.
• Support mill operations and cross-disciplinary teams.
