Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking mechanical engineering co-ops for reliability and project roles at multiple mill locations. The roles involve supporting maintenance and project engineering tasks to improve safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

Candidates should be Mechanical Engineering majors, with freshman year completed or in progress, and a GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher. Preference given to students connected with specific university programs and regional schools.

Qualifications

• A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 is required and must be a permanent U.S. resident with a valid driver’s license.
• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field and will have completed freshman year at time of co-op/intern.
• Currently a member of the paper foundation at listed schools or enrolled at state/university tech programs (preferred).
• Completing this application makes you eligible for consideration at PCA's 10 mill locations nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical reliability assignments that improve mill safety, efficiency, equipment performance, and cost effectiveness.
• Apply predictive and preventive maintenance techniques to improve equipment reliability.
• Collect, analyze, and use mill data to support process optimization and business decisions.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, operations, and multi-disciplinary teams to support mill operations.
• Additional duties as requested by management.
