Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) seeks a Mechanical Reliability and Project Engineering Co-Op/Intern in Jackson, AL. The role supports reliability and project engineering tasks to improve safety, efficiency, and equipment performance across the mill. Applicants must be engineering majors (Mechanical Engineering or related), with a 3.0/4.0 GPA, U.S.

residency, and at least freshman-year completed. AutoCAD, CMMS (Trident), and MS Office proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• GPA 3.0/4.0 required and must be a permanent U.S. resident with a valid driver's license.
• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Freshman year completed or will be by time of co-op/internship.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical reliability assignments to improve mill safety, efficiency, equipment performance, and cost effectiveness.
• Apply maintenance practices like lubrication, alignment, vibration analysis, and root cause failure analysis.
• Collect and analyze mill data to support process optimization and decision-making.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, operations and other teams.
