Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) invites applications for Mechanical Reliability and Project Engineering Co-Op/Intern roles at our mills across the United States. The positions offer hands-on experience in reliability, project engineering, and maintenance optimization.

Ideal candidates are Mechanical Engineering majors, maintaining a 3.0+ GPA, and eligible to work in the U.S., with freshman-year completed and a drive for cross-functional teamwork in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• GPA 3.0/4.0 minimum and must be a permanent U.S. resident with a valid driver's license.
• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field; freshman year completed or in progress at time of co-op/internship.

Responsibilities

• Support reliability assignments that improve mill safety, efficiency, equipment performance, and cost effectiveness.
• Apply maintenance techniques (lubrication, vibration analysis, root cause) to improve equipment reliability.
• Collect, analyze, and use mill data to support process optimization and business decisions.
• Work with engineering, maintenance, operations and multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate improvement efforts.
