Job summary
Northrop Grumman’s Launch Systems Infrastructure team seeks a Mechanical Engineer/ Principal Mechanical Engineer to develop deployable mechanisms and PDPs for the Sentinel GBSD program. On-site in Roy, UT, you’ll collaborate across IPTs to meet program milestones and support all lifecycle phases, with a path to higher levels based on experience.
The role emphasizes CAD modeling, GD&T, MBSE, and interfacing with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Requires a STEM bachelor’s degree with 2 years of related experience; master’s with 1 year (principal level: 5 years with bachelor’s; 3 with master’s).
- US Citizen with active Secret clearance within last 6 years.
- 2+ years CAD modeling experience.
- Experience with design/fabrication for structural details, assemblies, or installations.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement deployable mechanical mechanisms verified by test/analysis.
- Develop CAD models visualizing design solutions.
- Deliver PDPs on time to meet program objectives.
- Support all phases of the systems lifecycle: design, drawings, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance.
- Identify design/requirement gaps and provide cost-effective resolutions.
- Ensure PDPs meet design requirements from item specifications.
- Prepare and present reports, briefs, and interface with customers.
