Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Roy, UT, seeks a Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer to drive component design and PDP development for the Sentinel GBSD program. You will lead an IPT, interface with suppliers and customers, and deliver PDPs within program timelines.

The role requires a U.S. citizenship with a Secret clearance and a STEM degree with multiple years of relevant experience. On-site work and relocation support may be available.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM degree with related experience; supports multiple degree paths.
• Experience with system integration and test principles is required.
• Ability to present technical status to leadership and customers.
• Ability to obtain SAP access as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement deployable mechanical mechanisms verified by test/analysis.
• Develop CAD models visualizing design solutions.
• Implement PDP processes and obtain approvals.
• Deliver PDPs on time to meet program objectives.
• Integrate PDPs with element teams to avoid clashes.
• Identify gaps and provide cost-effective resolutions.
• Ensure PDPs meet design requirements from item specs.
• Support digital transformation related to PDP development.
