Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in New York is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Graduate to join our Engineering Development Program. You will support experienced engineers, learn CAD/BIM practices, and work on diverse MEP and building systems projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with anticipated graduation Winter 2026 to Summer 2027, have internship exposure, and are proficient in AutoCAD; REVIT is a plus. Strong teamwork and a proactive mindset are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university, with expected graduation Winter 2026, Spring or Summer 2027.
• Engineering internship is a plus.
• Knowledge of the latest version of MEP AutoCAD; REVIT experience is a plus.
• Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
• Learn drawing organization and company standards.
• Perform CAD/BIM-drafting for a variety of projects and project sizes.
• Coordinate with the designs of other trades under guidance of senior staff.
• Support design and engineering efforts for new installations and retrofits.
• Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work assignments.
• Assist engineers with field investigations and site visits.
• Participate in EDT program training sessions.
• Attend Engineering Development Program seminars.
