Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group seeks an entry-level Mechanical Engineering graduate in California to join our Engineering Development Training (EDT) program. You will support CAD/BIM drafting, learn wiring and MEP coordination, and collaborate with senior engineers on diverse projects.

The role targets graduates for Winter 2026 or Spring/Summer 2027, with opportunities to advance through training, site visits, and cross-disciplinary design reviews in a global engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical engineering with a graduation date Winter 2026, Spring or Summer of 2027.
• Previous engineering internship, a plus
• Knowledge of the latest version of MEP Auto CAD; REVIT experience is a plus.
• Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite
• FE and EIT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
• Learn drawing organization and company standards.
• Perform CAD/BIM-drafting for a variety of projects and project sizes to begin to understand architectural engineering design and documentation.
• Coordination with the designs of other trades under the guidance of more senior technical staff.
• Support the design and engineering efforts of systems for new installations, retrofits, replacements and upgrades.
• Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assignments.
• Assist engineers with field investigations and construction site visits for project coordination.
• Participate in the Engineering Development Program training and activities.
• Attend EDT program continuing education seminars on technical topics.
