Job summary

Woolpert seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead projects and oversee HVAC/mechanical system design for complex buildings. You will model, size, and optimize systems, mentor staff, and present technical solutions to stakeholders.

The role requires PE certification, strong communication, and experience with sustainable building design. Travel to project sites may be necessary; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or MA/MS in related field with 7+ years related experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
• Experience with building HVAC system design for commercial, mixed-use, healthcare, aviation, hospitality, and/or high-rise preferred.
• Experience designing sustainable building systems with LEED or similar credentials.
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and support HVAC and mechanical systems for complex buildings, including air-cooled and liquid-cooled systems.
• Model airflow and thermal performance using CFD tools to evaluate design scenarios.
• Perform cooling load calculations, equipment sizing, and mechanical system modeling.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate alternatives and present solutions.
• Develop and modify models, plans, details, and drawings in line with standards.
