Woolpert is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC and plumbing design on complex buildings, including air-cooled and liquid-cooled systems. The role combines technical excellence with mentoring and project leadership within a collaborative engineering team.

Candidates should hold a BA/BS or MA/MS in a related field, have a PE certification, and 7+ years of relevant experience; familiarity with sustainable design and CFD tools like 6Sigma is preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or MA/MS in related field and 7+ years related experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
• Experience with building HVAC design for commercial, mixed-use, healthcare, aviation, hospitality, and/or high-rise preferred.
• Experience designing sustainable building systems (LEED, Green Building Institute, etc.).
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication for internal/external relationships.
• Experience with discipline-related software applications and calculation tools.

Responsabilités

• Design and support HVAC and mechanical systems for complex buildings, including air-cooled and liquid-cooled systems.
• Perform cooling load calculations, equipment sizing, and airflow analysis.
• Model and analyze airflow distribution and thermal performance using CFD tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate system alternatives and cooling solutions.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure code-compliant, high-quality deliverables.
• Develop and modify models, plans, details, and drawings of mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Present design concepts and solutions during design reviews and coordination meetings.
• Mentor team members and conduct internal training when necessary.
