Xometry in the U.S. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Generative AI and Geometric Integration team in a hybrid role at Waltham, MA or North Bethesda, MD. You will translate mechanical constraints into AI training data while bridging engineering and software for real-time manufacturing insights.

The role emphasizes CAD/PLM proficiency (Siemens NX, Teamcenter), GD&T interpretation, and collaboration with data scientists to improve AI-driven pricing and lead times.

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or related technical discipline is required.
• Solid working knowledge of enterprise CAD/PLM systems; direct experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter is a major plus.
• Familiarity with GD&T and manufacturing processes is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze native 3D CAD models to identify complex geometries and GD&T annotations for the AI engine.
• Support real-time manufacturability (DFM) and pricing feedback loops with NX and Teamcenter.
• Provide ground-truth engineering logic to train Generative AI models.
• Create and review datasets from 2D drawings, PDFs, and purchase orders for AI learning.
• Map manufacturing constraints into software-ready rules and conduct regression testing.
