Job summary

EMCOR Services Mesa Energy is seeking a talented HVAC Design Engineer to support system selection, sizing, and layout for commercial projects. You will perform load calculations, help develop submittals, and coordinate with project teams on installation sequencing and field surveys.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, 1+ year HVAC design experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD MEP or Revit, MS Office, and energy codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• 1+ years’ experience in HVAC design is required.
• CEM, EIT is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHPD codes is a plus.
• Independent decision making is required.
• Computer skills include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Adobe Acrobat; AutoCAD MEP or Revit are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Familiar with different HVAC system types and their applications.
• HVAC systems selection, sizing, and design (ductwork and piping).
• Apply Mechanical Codes and Energy Efficiency Standards.
• Engage in energy efficiency projects or energy services.
• Perform Heating, Cooling Load Calculations and Title 24 Compliance using Energy-Pro and eQuest.
• Assist with job site surveys and analyze solutions and installation sequencing.
• Support submittal package preparation and related tasks.
• Manage multiple deadlines and write technical proposals/reports.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

1+ years’ experience in HVAC Design

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Familiar with different HVAC system types and their applications
• HVAC systems selection, sizing, and design (ductwork and piping)
• Experienced with Mechanical Codes and Energy Efficiency Standards
• Engineering experience with energy efficiency, developing or supporting performance-based projects or energy services
• Perform Heating, Cooling Load Calculations and Title 24 Compliance calculations using Energy-Pro and eQuest programs
• Assist with developing ability to conduct job site surveys and help to analyze solutions and installation sequencing.
• Other duties may include copying/printing/scanning, assembly of equipment submittal packages, assistance in preparing work scope and other tasks as assigned.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Ability to write technical proposals and reports
