Job summary

Mesa Energy Systems, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Design Engineer with 1+ years of HVAC design experience. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and offers opportunities to work on energy-efficient, performance-based projects.

You will perform load calculations, system sizing, and ductwork/piping design, while applying Mechanical Codes and energy standards. OSHPD knowledge is a plus and AutoCAD MEP or Revit skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required.
• 1+ years’ experience in HVAC Design.
• CEM and/or EIT are highly preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHPD codes is a plus.
• Independent decision making is required.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Adobe Acrobat; AutoCAD MEP or Revit a plus.

Responsibilities

• Familiar with different HVAC system types and their applications.
• HVAC systems selection, sizing, and design (ductwork and piping).
• Experience with Mechanical Codes and Energy Efficiency Standards.
• Engineering experience with energy efficiency, developing or supporting performance-based projects or energy services.
• Perform Heating, Cooling Load Calculations and Title 24 Compliance calculations using Energy-Pro and eQuest programs.
• Assist with developing ability to conduct job site surveys and help analyze solutions and installation sequencing.
• Other duties including copying/printing/scanning, assembly of equipment submittal packages, assisting in preparing work scope.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Familiar with different HVAC system types and their applications
• HVAC systems selection, sizing, and design (ductwork and piping)
• Experienced with Mechanical Codes and Energy Efficiency Standards
• Engineering experience with energy efficiency, developing or supporting performance-based projects or energy services
• Perform Heating, Cooling Load Calculations and Title 24 Compliance calculations using Energy-Pro and eQuest programs

• Assist with developing ability to conduct job site surveys and help to analyze solutions and installation sequencing.
• Other duties may include copying/printing/scanning, assembly of equipment submittal packages, assistance in preparing work scope and other tasks as assigned.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Ability to write technical proposals and reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• 1+ years’ experience in HVAC Design
• CEM, EIT highly preferred
• Knowledge of OSHPD codes are a plus
• Independent decision making is required
• Computer skills using MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project and Adobe Acrobat. Knowledge of AutoCAD MEP or Revit is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
