Accounting Search seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer in Morris County, NJ, to design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and deliver fabrication drawings for shop fabrication. You will figure out how to build customer needs, especially equipment not previously made, and lead conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.

You will collaborate closely with the fabrication shop, reviewing plans and resolving build questions with fabricators, while supporting the project

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering discipline.
• 3 or 4 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in SolidWorks. It is the platform for all design and fabrication drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude. You can look at a need and work out how to build it, not just draw it.
• Accurate, detail-oriented drawing work, and comfortable talking a design through with the people who fabricate it.
• Local to northern New Jersey and able to work fully onsite in Morris County. Relocation assistance is not offered.
• Strongly preferred: experience designing conveyors or similar fabricated equipment. A water and wastewater background is a plus, not required.
• Nice to have: you enjoy design work and want to keep doing it, with room to grow from there.

Responsabilidades

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce the fabrication drawings the shop builds from.
• Work out how to build what the customer needs, including equipment the company has not made before.
• Carry conveyor designs, the bulk of the workload, from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit the company's nearby fabrication shop to review plans, check progress, and resolve build questions with the fabricators.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators, with the level of detail each one needs.
• Support the project engineer running each order with the design work that order requires.
• Get the details right before release, so equipment is built once and fits the first time.
