Job summary

Hire Consulting Services in Morris County, NJ seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce shop fabrication drawings. You will work closely with fabricators and project engineers to ensure builds meet customer needs.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 3–4 years of design experience; conveyors experience is a plus. This is an onsite role with relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3–4 years of mechanical design experience; conveyors design preferred.
• Proficient in SolidWorks for design and fabrication drawings.
• Accurate, detail-oriented drafting; able to discuss designs with fabricators.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings the shop builds from.
• Work out how to build customer equipment, including new types not previously made.
• Carry conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit the nearby fabrication shop to review plans and resolve build questions with fabricators.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with appropriate detail.
• Support the project engineer with required design work for each order.
• Ensure details are correct before release so equipment is built right the first time.
