Job summary

Henderson Group Recruiting is assisting a privately held manufacturer in Morris County, NJ, to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer. The role focuses on designing water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and generating fabrication drawings for in-house fabrication.

You will translate customer needs into buildable equipment, including items the company has not made before, with a short path from design to shop floor. On-site role; relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3–4 years mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in SolidWorks; essential for all design and fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Determine how to build customer requirements, including equipment not previously made.
• Lead conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit fabrication shop to review plans, check progress, and resolve build questions with fabricators.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with appropriate detail.
• Support the project engineer with design work for each order.
• Ensure details are correct before release so equipment is built right the first time.
