Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC. in Morris County, NJ is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. You will design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks, producing fabrication drawings and guiding builds on site. You’ll work closely with fabricators to optimize designs and resolve build questions, with a focus on conveyors and unseen equipment challenges.

The role emphasizes hands-on design ownership, collaboration with the fabrication shop, and progress toward project engineering as the team grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3–4 years of mechanical design experience; strong candidates with less will be considered.
• Proficient in SolidWorks for design and fabrication drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to design beyond drafting.
• Accurate, detail-oriented drawing work and ability to discuss designs with fabricators.
• Local to northern New Jersey and onsite in Morris County; relocation not offered.
• Experience designing conveyors or similar fabricated equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and create fabrication drawings.
• Figure out how to build customer needs, including new equipment.
• Carry conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit fabrication shop to review plans and resolve build questions.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with required detail.
• Support the project engineer with design work for each order.
• Ensure details are correct before release so equipment fits first time.
