Privately held New Jersey manufacturer of water and wastewater process equipment is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. You will design in SolidWorks and generate shop fabrication drawings, focusing on conveyors and new equipment ideas.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 3–4 years of design experience and a proven ability to translate needs into buildable solutions. This is an on-site role in Morris County with relocation not offered.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3 or 4 years of mechanical design experience; standout candidates with less will be considered.
• Proficient in SolidWorks; platform for all design and fabrication drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to turn needs into buildable solutions.
• Accurate, detail-oriented drawing work; able to discuss designs with fabricators.
• Local to northern New Jersey; onsite work in Morris County; relocation not offered.
• Nice to have conveyors or similar fabricated equipment experience; water/wastewater background is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Work out how to build customer needs, including equipment the company has not made before.
• Carry conveyor designs, the bulk of the workload, from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit the company's nearby fabrication shop to review plans, check progress, and resolve build questions.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators, with the level of detail each one needs.
• Support the project engineer running each order with the design work that order requires.
• Get the details right before release, so equipment is built once and fits the first time.
