Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Morris County, New Jersey. The role focuses on designing water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks, producing fabrication drawings, and interfacing with fabricators on build feasibility.

Most work involves conveyors and newly developed equipment, with close shop-floor collaboration. The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of mechanical design experience, a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, and a strong aptitude for turning needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3–4 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in SolidWorks; essential for design & fabrication drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to conceive practical builds.
• Accurate, detail-oriented drawing and ability to discuss designs with fabricators.
• Local to northern New Jersey; onsite in Morris County; relocation not offered.
• Experience with conveyors or similar fabricated equipment preferred; water/wastewater background a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Determine how to build customer requirements, including equipment not previously made.
• Carry conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit fabrication shop to review plans and resolve build questions.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with required level of detail.
• Support the project engineer with necessary design work for each order.
• Ensure details are correct before release so equipment fits the first time.
