Job summary

Barrette Workforce Solutions, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Morris County, NJ. You will design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks, turning customer needs into build-ready fabrication drawings and collaborating with the shop floor to refine plans.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and 3–4 years’ design experience, with a strong aptitude for practical problem solving. The role is fully onsite with competitive base pay and full medical benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3–4 years of mechanical design experience; standout candidate with less will be considered.
• Proficient in SolidWorks; used for all design and fabrication drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to design build-ready solutions.
• Accurate, detail-oriented drawing work and ability to discuss designs with fabricators.
• Local to northern New Jersey and able to work fully onsite in Morris County; relocation not offered.
• Conveyors experience strongly preferred; water/wastewater background a plus, not required.
• Enjoy design work and seek growth from there.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Figure out how to build customer requirements, including new equipment.
• Carry conveyors designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit fabrication shop to review plans, check progress, and resolve build questions.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with the required level of detail.
• Support the project engineer with design work for each order.
• Ensure details are right before release so equipment is built correctly the first time.
