Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a mechanical engineering co-op/intern to support reliability and project initiatives at its International Falls mill. The role covers safety, efficiency, and equipment performance improvements, with exposure to predictive maintenance techniques and data-driven decision making.

Ideal candidates are mechanical engineering students with freshman year completed, GPA 3.0+, and eligibility to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• GPA 3.0/4.0 minimum.
• Must be a permanent U.S. resident with a valid driver's license.
• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field and have completed freshman year (or will have) at time of co-op.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical reliability assignments to improve mill safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
• Apply lubrication, alignment, vibration analysis, and root cause failure analysis to improve equipment reliability.
• Collect and analyze mill data to support process optimization and decision-making.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, operations and multi-disciplinary teams.
