Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) invites students for Mechanical Reliability and Project Engineering Co-Op/Internships at PCA mills across the United States. Roles include reliability improvement, project coordination, and safety enhancements, with possible titles depending on mill needs.

These co-ops require a 3.0 GPA, U.S. residency, and enrollment in Mechanical Engineering or related fields, with freshman year completed.

Qualifications

• A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 is required and must be a permanent U.S. resident with a valid driver's license.
• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field and have completed freshman year.
• Preference for active participation in school programs related to manufacturing or paper industry.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical reliability assignments to improve mill safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Apply lubrication, alignment, vibration analysis and root cause failure analysis to improve reliability.
• Collect and analyze mill data to support process optimization and decision-making.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, operations and external resources to drive improvements.
• Assist with capital projects and project coordination for reliability and safety.
