Job summary

KBR is seeking highly motivated students to join Defense & Intel Internship Program for Summer 2027. This internship offers hands-on experience, professional development, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that support national security and advanced technology initiatives.

Interns will work alongside experienced professionals on real-world assignments, gaining exposure to technical and operational challenges while building valuable skills and industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• Full-time rising junior, senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of CAD software; experience with CAD software preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in research, design, modify and evaluate mechanical systems and components.
• Validate vendor equipment performance by developing testing methods and documenting results.
• Support senior engineers with test procedures and data analysis.
• Research and identify mechanical parts and materials.
• Manage data including test results, BOMs, drawings and technical data sheets.
• Perform hardware assembly and equipment installations.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, manufacturing, vendors, and customers.
• Support engineering documentation such as drawings and procedures.
• Abide by company policies to complete tasks.
