Job summary

KBR's Defense & Intel Internship Program invites motivated students to gain hands-on experience during Summer 2027. Interns will contribute to real-world projects supporting national security and advanced technology initiatives, collaborating with experienced professionals on challenging engineering tasks.

Open to full-time rising juniors, seniors or graduate students pursuing Mechanical Engineering, CAD proficiency, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Full-time rising junior, senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of CAD software; experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in research, design, modify, develop and evaluate systems and components using mechanical engineering principles.
• Validate vendor equipment performance with testing methods and document results.
• Support senior engineers through data analysis and test procedures.
• Research mechanical parts, components, and materials.
• Manage data including test results, BOMs, drawings and data sheets.
• Perform hardware assembly and equipment installation.
• Collaborate with other disciplines, manufacturing, management and vendors.
• Support engineering documentation, drawings and project specs.
