Job summary

KBR is seeking highly motivated students for its Defense & Intel - Mechanical Engineering Internship Program for Summer 2027 in Lexington, MA. Interns will work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects, applying mechanical engineering principles and CAD tools while gaining exposure to testing, documentation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Full-time rising junior, senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in researching, designing, modifying and evaluating systems and components.
• Validate vendor equipment performance and develop testing methods.
• Support senior engineers with test procedures and data analysis.
• Research and identify mechanical parts, components, and materials.
• Manage data including test results, BOMs, quotations, drawings and data sheets.
• Perform hardware assembly and equipment installations.
• Communicate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines, manufacturing personnel, management, vendors, customers and subcontractors.
• Support engineering documentation: drawings, project specifications, procedures, test data and results.
• Abide by company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
