Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Meat Manager to help lead the Meat & Seafood department in a fast-paced store in California. You will support the Meat & Seafood Manager with ordering, inventory, and staff supervision to ensure top quality and service.

Responsibilities include coordinating production, merchandising, and scheduling, hiring and training team members, and maintaining strict health and safety standards to deliver fresh, high-quality products and an exceptional customer

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with basic math skills.
• Minimum 2 years professional experience; proven leadership; 2–3 years grocery retail Meat dept experience preferred.
• Dependable with outgoing, friendly behavior; positive attitude and customer interaction skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication and teamwork; maintain department housekeeping and safety standards.
• Able to stand for long hours, lift 25–90 lbs, and operate meat/seafood equipment.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; follow company recipes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in department management and merchandising for productivity and profit.
• Oversee ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and team supervision.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, planning, and direction with the team.
• Help hire, train, and develop Meat & Seafood staff.
• Know weekly ad items, assist with receiving, stocking, and fresh handling.
• Unload deliveries and maintain equipment; ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
• Enforce health, safety, and sanitation guidelines across the department.
