Houchens Food Group, Inc. is seeking a Meat Manager to lead the meat department in Kentucky. You will supervise workers, manage inventory, and ensure profitability in line with company policy and the Store Manager guidance.

Responsibilities include maintaining department records, training staff in sanitation and safety, handling customer service, and controlling shrink while meeting budget targets.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience necessary.
• Basic math calculations; must be able to grind and stack beef in temperatures 28–32°F.

Aufgaben

• Supervise workers in meat preparation and ensure profitability within company policy and Store Manager guidance.
• Maintain meat department paperwork and records daily/weekly.
• Provide friendly, courteous service and resolve customer complaints regarding food service.
• Train workers in food preparation, service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for efficiency and standards compliance.
• Record and maintain accurate bookkeeping for weekly meat and monthly meat purchases.
• Observe and evaluate workers and procedures to ensure quality and service.
• Assign duties and workstations; manage inventory to control shrink.
• Work within meat operations budget as relates to gross profit and distribution.
• Analyze operational problems (theft/wastage) and establish procedures to reduce them.
• Ensure proper rotation of received/stocked meat products.
• Recommend measures to improve procedures and worker performance.
• Ensure meat coolers/cases maintain proper temperatures and use safe procedures.
• Ensure appropriate markdowns when necessary.
