Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking a Meat Manager to supervise the meat operation, ensure profitability, and lead a team within the meat department. The role reports to the Store Manager and may require nights and weekends to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities include maintaining department records, training staff, overseeing safety and sanitation, and managing inventory and budgets to support gross profit goals. Experience in food service operations preferred. Full-time, on-site position.

• Inventory management and shrink control.

Responsibilities

• Supervise workers in preparing meat and ensure profitability of the meat operation.
• Maintain meat department paperwork and records daily/weekly.
• Provide friendly, prompt service and resolve customer complaints.
• Train workers in food preparation, service, sanitation, and safety.
• Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas for quality and standards.
• Record and maintain weekly meat purchases and monthly meat orders.
• Assign duties and workstations to staff.
• Maintain temperature controls in meat coolers and cases.
• Work within meat operations budget and analyze issues like theft and waste.
• Ensure proper markdowns when necessary and accurate timekeeping.
• Record all hours worked and sign time tickets.
• Inventory all products and report four-week inventory to management.
