Job summary

Save-A-Lot in Bradenton, FL is hiring a Meat Cutter to keep the meat department in top condition, trim and prepare standard cuts, and drive sales by following merchandising plans and maintaining product quality.

You will work under the Store Manager, perform duties from receiving to display, ensure date rotation and sanitation, and help with ordering while providing excellent customer service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in meat cutting or food preparation preferred.
• Must be able to use knives and power equipment safely.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
• Dependable and flexible with adherence to uniform dress code.

Responsibilities

• Works under the direction of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
• Cuts and/or packages authorized beef, pork and poultry items according to Save-A-Lot policies and procedures.
• Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat.
• Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and Save-A-Lot standards.
• Ensures displays and case signs are updated and meat is merchandised to maximize sales; may assist with product ordering.
• Maintains date rotation per policy in display and storage areas.
• Prepares meat cuts for display to appear attractive to customers.
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat to maintain cold chain and quality.
• Follows all SAVE-A-LOT policies including sanitation, meat/pog, inventory, and daily manager signoffs.
• May be assigned to work in more than one store.
