Job summary

UF Health Jacksonville seeks a multi-skilled professional to assist in all aspects of medical practice under supervision of a licensed physician. The role covers administrative and clinical duties and supports various allied fields.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in clerical or patient-service roles in healthcare, with data-entry skills and familiarity with patient demographics. BLS certification is preferred, travel up to 10% may apply.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clerical or customer service experience, ideally in a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency with data entry and reviewing patient demographics.
• Basic life support (BLS) knowledge or certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations or treatments under supervision.

Overview

A professional multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice including administrative and clinical procedures under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician.Degree in medicine or other fields, with plans for career in dental, medicine, advanced medical practice, pharmacy, chiropractor, physical and occupational therapy, or other allied fields.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations or treatments.
• May perform scribe functions by documenting all provider/patient interactions in the medical record under the supervision and responsibility of a licensed clinician.
• Observe and report patients' signs or symptoms. Participates in performance improvement projects. Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.
• Provides a standard of excellence as it relates to customer service for patients, staff members, and other customers.
• Assists with test scoring.
• Assists with report documentation.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements

1 year - Clerical/Customer Service experience, ideally in a healthcare related industry, experience with third party payors and computer experience for inputting data and reviewing patient demographic material. - preferred

Education

Degree in medicine, with plans for a career in dental, medicine, advanced medical practice, pharmacy, chiropractor, physical/occupational therapy, or other allied health fields. Required

Certifications/Licensure

Basic Life Support (BLS) - required - at time of hire

Travel

Up to 10%
