Job summary
Math Corps is seeking a Math Tutor to help students in local schools build essential math skills. You’ll lead small groups, follow a schedule, and utilize proven activities, while receiving coaching and feedback to grow as a tutor.
AmeriCorps positions include a paycheck every two weeks, a $17.50 hourly rate, health insurance, childcare assistance, and education benefits. The 2026-27 school-year role runs August 2026 to June 2027 with weekday daytime hours and no weekends.
Qualifications
- Dependable with good attendance history.
- Able to follow instructions and take feedback.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading and writing.
- 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
- Ability to complete a background check.
Responsibilities
- Lead tutoring sessions for small groups of students.
- Follow a school day schedule to ensure regular support.
- Track student progress with the onsite coach.
- Enter scores into data software and document outcomes.
- Commit to ongoing coaching and professional growth.
- Share experiences with the community.
