Job summary

Tucson Electric Power Company is seeking a Materials Operations Supervisor to lead the safe, efficient operation of the Materials Operations department, overseeing warehouse, inventory, logistics, and distribution in support of utility operations.

You will provide leadership, workforce planning, coaching, and performance management while driving continuous improvement, cost control, and customer service across business units.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups across functional lines.
• Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations and maintain poise and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily activities of the work group, focusing on safety, workflow, resources, quality, scheduling, and development.
• Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, training, and adherence to safety policies.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management to employees and support succession planning.
• Collaborate with HR and Labor Relations on employee relations, performance issues, and disciplinary actions per policies and labor agreements.
• Conduct performance reviews, establish development plans, and support career growth.
• Monitor performance and workload distribution to optimize productivity and customer service.
• Review processes and metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
• Develop and implement solutions to improve material availability, inventory accuracy, and warehouse efficiency.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for departmental resources.
• Coordinate with internal customers, field operations, engineering, procurement, and fleet services for effective planning and execution.
• Resolve customer concerns by identifying practical solutions and removing barriers to service delivery.
• Support inventory management systems and work management tools to improve performance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical business practices.
• Assist in emergency response and storm restoration activities as required.
