Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Material Handler to support production operations at our Lafayette, IN facility. The role involves operating forklifts and other equipment, maintaining inventory, and assisting in multiple departments.

You will receive training on heavy equipment, work in a safety-focused environment, and perform duties that ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery. Benefits include vacation, holidays, health/dental/vision, 401k, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to pass PIV (power industrial vehicle) training.
• Basic reading, writing, math and verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Owning and helping improve our performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery
• Maintaining and reporting daily receiving and shipping activities
• Reporting defects and needs for repairs
• Keeping lines stocked with the proper materials
• Performing additional work as assigned by the supervisor or coordinator, which may require the employee to assist in different departments
• Wearing approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, hearing protection, etc.
• Completing assigned duties in accordance with safety, policies, and practices, including your individual safety, as well as the safety of co-workers, and the safe use of equipment in the workplace
