Job summary

Wabash in Lafayette, IN is seeking a material handler to support production through safe material movement and timely order filling. You will operate forklifts and other equipment, stock lines, and collaborate with multiple departments.

The role includes training on PIV equipment, adhering to safety policies, and maintaining accurate receiving and shipping records while helping improve Safety, Quality, and Delivery.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED equivalent is required.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to pass PIV (power industrial vehicle) training.
• Basic reading, writing, math, and verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Owning and helping improve our performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery.
• Maintaining and reporting daily receiving and shipping activities.
• Reporting defects and needs for repairs.
• Keeping lines stocked with the proper materials.
• Performing additional work as assigned by the supervisor or coordinator, which may require the employee to assist in different departments.
• Wearing approved PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, hearing protection, etc.
• Completing assigned duties in accordance with safety, policies, and practices, including your individual safety, as well as the safety of co-workers.
