Job summary

Wabash is seeking a material handler to join the production floor in Lafayette, IN. You will operate heavy equipment after training and assist with receiving, movement, and storage of parts and materials.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and delivery, with PPE required and opportunities to work across departments. Training is provided, and the environment may include loud noise and fumes.

Qualifications

• High school degree or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to pass PIV (power industrial vehicle) training.
• Basic reading, writing, math, & verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Owning and helping improve our performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery
• Maintaining and reporting daily receiving and shipping activities
• Reporting defects and needs for repairs
• Keeping lines stocked with the proper materials
• Performing additional work as assigned by the supervisor or coordinator, which may require the employee to assist in different departments
• Wearing approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, hearing protection, etc.
• Completing assigned duties in accordance with safety, policies, and practices, including your individual safety, as well as the safety of co-workers, and the safe use of equipment in the workplace
